Synthesis 2012 > UK: anxiety levels are moderate

United Kingdom: anxiety levels are moderate but the value placed on taking risk is less pronounced than in Greece and Poland

In the United Kingdom the percentage of people who see risk as a stimulant (48%) is higher than in France, Germany, Spain and Italy although they remain relatively measured in that very few consider it necessary to take ‘a lot’ of risk to succeed. Nonetheless, the majority consider that you should be prepared to take risks and ready to pay the price if you fail (57%). At the same time, luck is a word they associate with risk far more frequently than in other countries (61% versus 37% overall).

The British are also the least inclined to consider that risk is viewed less positively in their country than in the European Union as a whole (31% versus 42% overall).
